The Peace Bridge (Upper Sorbian: Móst měra) in Bautzen is one of the larger stone arch bridges in Saxony and, along with the A4 motorway bridge and the Westtangente bridge, one of the city's three most important road crossings for road traffic. The four basket arches, mounted on massive pillars and abutments, span the deeply incised and steep-sided Spree valley at a height of over 20 meters over a length of 181 meters. The Bautzen Hammer Mill was built in 1493 by the city of Bautzen on the Spree River as a wire mill, i.e., for the production of wire using wire drawing machines. In 1740, the mill was expanded to include an iron hammer mill. Today, it is located north of the old town on the border of the Seidau district and serves as a flour mill, oil mill, and mustard mill.
