The Heß Hut is named after the Gesäuse pioneer Heinrich Hess. It was expanded and modernized in 1996. The cozy hut atmosphere was nevertheless preserved.

As of October 2024: the Bärenschützklamm is open again (apparently since September) and has been repaired. Perhaps autumn is the best time to visit it: the changing foliage is very attractive and there is a good chance that you won't be able to walk it without running water...
