The bus was set on fire by "someone" and thus destroyed. But as a curiosity in the midst of an otherwise scenic idyll, the remains are still here.

MØRKESTØLBUSSEN Here at Mørkestøltjønna you will find the remains of a burned out old bus. Probably a Volvo, model year 1946-53. The bus was towed from Kristiansand by truck and then pulled here by a tractor. It was author Jens Bjørneboe's brother, Ole Andreas Kærup Bjørneboe, who was the architect behind it, but both brothers used the bus as a getaway. It was furnished with both a bed and a dining area, and a wood stove was installed for heating and cooking.

The gaze goes back and forth all the time. You really have to be careful that you also pay attention to the path. Difficult to highlight here. NORWAY is a single highlight.

On September 23, 1944 a Ju-88 crashed here in the area towards Tveitvannet. There was no explosion, but the plane caught fire. All 4 occupants died. The remains of this dramatic event can be found in the bog. Wreck remains are still scattered throughout the area and it is possible to find remains in several locations. Much is likely weathered, while most wreckage above a certain size has likely been removed. So the largest sub-assembly is right here. On the photos you can see, among other things, remains of an engine, a radiator, the propeller hub and parts of the engine cover.
