The Märchenthron in Haldensleben is a well-known work of art and a popular photo motif on the Hagentorplatz. It serves as a reminder that Haldensleben has connections to the Brothers Grimm, as a granddaughter of Wilhelm Grimm, among others, lived there, and it is thus a landmark for the city's local fairy tale connections.

Catholic Church of St. Liborius Through immigration and, above all, many Eastern European guest workers, the Catholic church community expanded at the beginning of the 20th century. Thus, in 1937, the construction of a Catholic church in Haldensleben was approved and carried out. Just two years later, the Catholic Church of St. Liborius was completed and still houses the Catholic community of Haldensleben today. History of the patron Saint Liborius: It is certain that in the year 348 he became Bishop of Le Mans, succeeding Pavacius. He had churches and monasteries built, promoted faith in his diocese, and helped the sick. Miraculous healings are also attributed to him. Liborius was friends with Saint Martin of Tours, who visited him in Le Mans and buried him after his death. In the year 836, Bishop Aldrich handed over the relics of Liborius to the messengers of the Paderborn Bishop Badurad, thus establishing a connection between the two dioceses that still exists today. According to legend, a peacock flew ahead of the procession to Paderborn, thus showing them the way. During the Thirty Years' War, the saint's bones were stolen from Paderborn Cathedral, but were returned a few days later. "Liborius" is a derivation of the Latin word "liber" and therefore means "the free one". https://www.haldensleben.de/Kultur-Tourismus/Tourismus/Sehensw%C3%BCrdigkeiten/Kirchen/Sankt-Liborius/
