Unfortunately, the trail is currently poorly maintained. Trees are lying over the descents, branches are sticking out from the jumps. Someone fell into the adjacent field on the now washed-out track. 😬

Trail at the Schwertgraben is really hot🔥. Nice and flowing with a few jumps that were artificially made. The trail partly goes directly along the ditch, not quite as fast here, but otherwise uniquely beautiful for the flatland.

A beautiful single trail (approx. 1 km) begins right in the curve of the asphalted Goitzscherundweg.

In the upper (southern) area there are one or two small "Schänzchen". Somewhat overgrown in the lower (northern) area.

Ideally, drive from east (from the direction of Maasdorf) to west, otherwise you have to push. It could be that the trail runs further east in the forest, but was not followed (as of 2021-06). It's also fun with the gravel bike;) Update 2021-09: I added a northeastern arc to OSM. This should soon also be visible on Komoot. This is a little more relaxed to drive on.

While Wittenberg doesn't have traditional bike parks with lifts, it offers a variety of engaging mountain biking trails. You'll find natural singletracks and routes through diverse landscapes like the Dübener Heide. These trails often feature small 'Schänzchen' (jumps or mounds) and can range from relaxed to challenging, sometimes with overgrown sections that add to the adventure.
Yes, for those seeking a challenge, the region offers trails that require good fitness and advanced riding skills. For instance, the Narrow and Rough Singletrack in Dübener Heide is described as very overgrown and bumpy, requiring riders to navigate through branches and bushes on uneven ground. Another option is the Mountain Bike Trail in Dübener Heide, which can be poorly maintained in parts, with trees over descents and branches near jumps, offering a raw, adventurous experience.
Absolutely. The MTB Trail Dübener Heide is rated as intermediate, offering a good balance for experienced riders. Another great option is the Maasdorf Mountain Bike Trail, which is also intermediate and can be enjoyed even with a gravel bike.
