Top 3 Waterfalls around Alberni-Clayoquot

Cascading in spectacular fashion for 440 metres (1,440 ft), Della Falls is Vancouver Island's second highest waterfall. Simply reaching the falls is an epic adventure, with many arriving at the trailhead on Grand Central Lake by canoe or kayak and then having to use a cable bridge to cross Drinkwater Creek.

Weiner Falls plunges into a clear, grotto-like pool surrounded by mossy rock and dense forest. The short approach follows an old logging road before reaching the top of the falls, where the drop is exposed and requires care. Reaching the pool below involves a very steep, rope-assisted descent over roots and uneven ground. The slope becomes particularly slippery after rain, but the upper viewpoint offers an easier alternative.

Hole-in-the-Wall is a small but unique natural waterfall. The waterfall gets its name from a literal hole in the wall, creating a “keyhole” effect that’s especially exciting after rain or during spring runoff. Mossy rock walls, ferns, and dense coastal forest surround this waterfall.

I didn't see the old car. Maybe it's no longer there. But the hike is worth it. Don't forget your hiking poles if you're not quite so young.

The campsite next to the breathtaking Tsusiat Falls is one of the highlights along the West Coast Trail. You can pitch your tent right on the beach, take a bath in the sea or a shower under the falls. If you are lucky, you can spot whales! Since this is a popular location, the will be no solitude, but you can chat with fellow hikers. At the very end of the beach, there is a sea cave and it might be a little more quiet over there.

The falls are better after heavy rain or early in the season.

The waterfall can be reached by easy walking trails that wind through the lush forest and past rapids. The park is named after the pioneer who built the earliest sawmill in Port Alberni. One of the park's main attractions is the annual migration of thousands of Pacific salmon that circle in the pool below Stamp Falls before ascending the fish ladders on their way to the spawning grounds. Viewpoints along the river offer excellent views of the salmon battling their way up the falls. This natural phenomenon occurs every year, beginning in late August with sockeye salmon and continuing with coho and chinook salmon through December. Salmon are also the reason black bears come to the river.
