Complex made up of three palm groves and a large noble residential building with an adjoining chapel. The Tower has one floor and the roofs were single and double pitched; there are large balconies and arches in the atrium. The complex is partially ruined; on a lookout tower there is a bell tower with a single arch; on the entrance architrave to the church, now walled up, there is an inscription, while inside there is a stucco frame decoration. The altar was stolen. The name of this Tower is remembered in the city's history and is linked to the ferocious undertaking of Cardinal Giovanni Vitelleschi, who, preparing to attack Giovinazzo, placed his throne and the headquarters of the papal troops there in 1438. The Tower, built by the Sagarriga family, is called "of the Thunder", as it was knocked down by thunder during a storm on 17 February 1678. Next to the Tower there is a chapel dedicated to Saint Michael with an inscription by Michele Sagarriga: «For me, for mine and for all». In the past a livestock fair was held here on St. Luke's Day. It is accessed via the Giovinazzo – Terlizzi provincial road, (SP 107) and turns right, before the ME.CA. factory, onto the Torre del Tuono road.

Beautiful farmhouse from the year 1000 - hoping it's open more often!

The toponym of the farmhouse derives from sappinus (medieval Latin etym.), a kind of pine tree. The architectural complex, located about 5 km from the city in the direction of Terlizzi, consists of a medieval church, a wall and some buildings. In the church of the farmhouse a Madonna is venerated, bringer of rain and health to the fields, whose feast is held on site on the first Sunday after Easter. The painting of the Madonna, placed on the altar, is in oil on canvas.

Located in Bisceglie on the old road to Ruvo di Puglia, in the Zappino farmhouse (from the medieval Latin word 'Sappinus' indicating a kind of pine), dating back to around the year one thousand, it is still possible to see the wall enclosure, a medieval church in good condition. and a rear period tower. The tower, with a square plan, has three levels, probably four originally.
