Little lake in Bogental

Highlight • Lake

Passwang makes us think of Jura pastures, the ringing of cowbells and meadows full of yellow gentian. The destination of our hike from the Neuhüsli bus station on the Passwangstrasse towards Ulmet into the Bogental is a body of water. A very special body of water that tells us about a use that was long ago.

Shortly before the Bogental farm we come across a pond. The Bogental pond was built around 1595 and was used to float wood until the beginning of the 19th century. By quickly emptying the pond, the wood could be floated with the flood wave via the Lüssel and Birs to Basel. Today the pond is an important spawning area for amphibians. Instead of cowbells, we can still hear the ringing of the "Glögglifrosches", the call of the rare midwife toad, which is reminiscent of a distant bell ringing.

Inkwilersee

Highlight • Lake

A wonderful gem in the immediate vicinity of Herzogenbuchsee.
Water frogs croak around the weather. The divers proudly show off their four young, which, intriguingly, have red heads, while their parents, typical of divers, have white "mirrors" vertically across their foreheads and noses.
Highly recommended if, like me, you're out on your new eBike for the first time, to experience all the features an eBike offers, such as: Rohloff gears, automatic seat post, ABS brakes, Komoot, no wait:
Simply everything you've known from your "biobike" for 60 years, and now feels wonderful with electric assistance. And: If you wanted, you could also go 45 km/h. But 36 km/h in Bosch Limit mode, i.e. 11 km/h entirely under your own muscle power, is all the more fun, and in weather made for the gods.

The beavers have also annexed this gem near Berken. The owner of the pond declared it a protected area to protect the four-legged chainsaw.

The lake is in a small valley. It is speared by a stream that the children enjoy. At the lake there is a farm where you can buy various things.

Great rough gravel path through a beautiful gorge parallel to a stream to the break point at a lake. Then a relaxed and then demanding ascent. Super combination!
