Truly stunning view from this lookout tower - of the archipelagos on the Storuman lake. On a nice, clear day, it is possible to see all the way to the Norwegian border to the west!

An incredible narrow and long boardwalk through the boggy areas in these lands... one of many around here, but let this not detract from its awesomeness! This one allows you to cross between the two lakes here to or from Sundberg - a small bridge is provided (otherwise, it would need to be swimming).

A lovely little pond here. Unnamed, one of a few like this in this area. A fantastic walk on the narrow wooden boardwalk amongst the trees. Worth stopping for a few minutes to take it all in.

I definitely don't want the place to come across badly for me, I was there too short a time for that. Of course, there are restaurants, hotels, a bathing beach, a nice tourist information office, and the nicely located campsite. Those looking for peace and quiet will certainly be very well looked after here.

Storuman, in the heart of Swedish Lapland, is a scenic town surrounded by deep forests, mountains, and lakes. A gateway to the mountain region, it offers excellent fishing, outdoor adventures, and easy access via the Inlandsbanan railway. Home to Sweden’s third deepest lake and the country’s largest wooden church, Storuman is a perfect spot for nature and adventure lovers.

The small café is not always open, but if you are on the island it is really worth a stop. The small museum on the upper floor has collected a lot of things from the surrounding area - everything to do with school, baking and harvesting. And the Sami bear graves. Of course, everything is only in Swedish.
