January 21, 2025, Entrance to Mont Avic Natural Park at Covarey

I recommend having dinner at the Mont Avic Resort. I had a great time, fantastic dishes, the jewel in the crown of the structure. The park offers several fairly challenging walks, I only did 1, I will definitely return. Here I saw a Fox very close up!

It cannot be defined as a hamlet... they are 4 houses, some meadows with cows, a hotel and a sort of tourist center (closed)... but immersed in a fantastic place where silence reigns. Reachable only by car following about 15 minutes of uphill climb full of hairpin bends, wide and well-maintained road, nothing dangerous. I recommend staying at the Mont Avic park hotel because they offer a good service (spa, room, food)... The real gem is dinner, I want to compliment both the Chef and the Head Nurse, fantastic and really delicious dishes, well explained and often finished at the table. Optimal! From Covarey there are several paths starting from about 3/4 hours one way. Foxes are often seen.

Champorcher is an enchanting Alpine village. In one of its hamlets there is the visitor center of the Mont Avic Natural Park. It is an excellent starting point for both summer and winter excursions.
