Lüneburg is a beautiful old Hanseatic city. The city planners have always kept the old city character in focus for new buildings or conversions. You can see and feel that ... Lüneburg with its old town center and the sights is always worth a detour👍☺

In 1975 there was a forest fire disaster in Südheide. The extinguishing work turned out to be difficult because it was pine monoculture. As a consequence, the pine trees in the Radbrucher- / Einehofer forest were thinned and underplanted with beeches. Source: District forester Radbruch. To provide better orientation for fire brigades who come to help who do not know the terrain, and for emergencies, the Gellersen community has set up boulders with engraved designations at the large crossroads of the communal connecting paths, such as here: Dönsenberg. https://www.radbruch-einemhof.de/hohe-linde-fünfarmiger-wegweiser/

Post was brought to Hamburg on the old postal route until around 1830. It leads north past the idyllic village of Dachtmissen, located in the valley, on heather forest paths to Einehof. On the Dönnsenberg you can still clearly see the old carriage tracks of the earlier postal vehicles. https://www.gellersen.de/home/kultur-freizeit-tourismus/tourismus/sehenswuerdheiten/wegweiser-auf-dem-alten-postweg.aspx

In the past, in the 1970s and 1980s, Einehof was a popular excursion destination. There was a large playground with a barbecue area. It was the perfect place for a successful children's birthday party. Today this playground has grown over. There are a few houses there. The charcoal burner hut and fireplace also still exist.
