Impossible hut warden! The hut is truly picturesquely nestled at the end of the Gradental valley, and the tour is definitely worth a day trip. Unfortunately, the hut warden is characterized by incredibly rude behavior. We were hiking with our children to the nearby Keeskopf and wanted to stop at the hut on the way back. So, we sat down near the hut on the way up to eat our snack. Reason enough for the hut warden to chase us away. In his opinion, you have to be out of sight of mountain huts to be allowed to have a snack. We will steer clear of the hut in the future. Impossible guy

The Wangenitzsee is located in the Schober group in the Hohe Tauern National Park at 2465 m above sea level (making it the highest mountain lake) and also the largest mountain lake in the Austrian state of Carinthia. The lake is located southeast of the Hoher Perschitzkopf on the Wiener Höhenweg, only about 100 meters from the border with East Tyrol.

The landlord cooks well, but doesn't really give you the feeling of being welcome. There is a certain tone of command, which is only softened after a corresponding hint. Puts a damper on the beautiful tour.

Not recommended. Food is really bad here, way too salty, just not edible. Poor reception, unfriendly host. Not a boat in the lake, that boat has long since sunk. Dogs walk around the hut all the time, but they are not allowed to be petted for some obscure reason.
