Railway station of the Tua Line, built in the 20th century, still preserving the passenger building (EP), the covered platform, and the sanitary facilities. The passenger building has a rectangular floor plan, composed of three sections, the central one with two floors and the side ones with one, with two-pitched roofs. The facades, finished with a stone cornice, are regularly punctuated by segmental arches with rectilinear frames, paired in the side sections, corresponding to doors on the ground floor and windowsill windows on the upper floor, except in the side sections of the main facade, where windows open. The main portal is wider and has a chamfered frame. The side facades, finished with gables, have raised toponymies, with a narrow opening of similar molding on the second floor of the east side. The facade facing the track is lined by a metal "marquise", covering the boarding platform. The railway connection was made on a narrow gauge track (metric gauge) between Tua station (Douro Line) and Bragança station, over a total length of 134 kilometers.

From Mirandela to Carvalhais Station, by road (~3.8km). Start of the Ecopista at Carvalhais Station. Need for detour by road, at 5km, due to impassable bridge. Need for detour by road, at 12km, in Jerusalém de Romeu, due to impassable bridge. On the way back, we anticipated the detours via the N15. All the ground is dirt except for the last km on arrival in Macedo de Cavaleiros which are asphalt.

The Podence Carnival Festival is held by the community of Podence, which belongs to the municipality of Macedo de Cavaleiros, in the district of Bragança. This is a social practice related to the end of winter and the beginning of spring. It takes place between Sunday and Shrove Tuesday in the most colourful village in Portugal, Podence. In the heart of the Northeast of Trás-os-Montes, the much-acclaimed Podence Carnival – Entrudo Chocalheiro – is celebrated during the carnival week, where the Podence Caretos (a pagan performance) bring colour to the village and to the many tourists who pass through with their costumes. This ritual event, which originated in the so-called “long time”, when life was organised according to the rhythms of the agricultural cycle, refers to the festivities celebrating the end of the winter cycle and the beginning of the spring production cycle. Unique in relation to other Carnival festivities held in other parts of the country and adapting to a post-rural socio-economic context, the Podence Caretos Carnival festival today takes on its own particularities, through its elements – the mask and the costume, the behaviours that characterise the ritual and the protagonists of the festival, the masked people, known as “caretos”, and its current social function, assuming a distinctive and unique format.
