Very interesting background on the history of aviation here on the lake – the former factory buildings still stand as a lost place right next to the promenade in Passignano. Also ideal for gravel bikers! More tips for gravel bike adventures in the area at https://graveldeluxe.com or in my Komoot profile: https://www.komoot.de/user/graveldeluxe

Magic nightride! Thnx for sharing this route. I started this ride anti clockwise 20.30hr in late June. Next to the great views over the lake at sunset it started to get dark when passing Liciano Niccone (So bring some good light with you) From there the last climb trough the forrest was pure magical. At both sides of the road the forest was full of fireflies. Quit some stunning experience!

Another suggestive point of the Tiber cycle path that runs along the Ponti del Perugia. Here we are at Ponte Valleceppi, which probably derives its name because in ancient times it was a natural point for the collection of tree trunks (cippum in Latin), where the river accelerates its course following a (slight) inclination of the land. The Bridge overlooks everything, and the area is very well equipped

This relaxing side street runs parallel to the railway. Although it is accessible to motor vehicles, there is very little traffic and you can cycle in peace. A little further on, at the underpass, you will also find numerous colorful graffiti.

On the southern part of Mount Tezio, several hills slope down towards the Tiber, often dominated by ancient castles and several churches; in the Middle Ages it was a very populated area, as evidenced by numerous churches and parishes, such as S. Lorenzo della Rabatta, now closed. It is on these roads, among suggestive landscapes, that you come across the Church of S. Lorenzo di Montenero, built around 1160 and then half destroyed by the earthquake of 1984 and now restored by private individuals). As private property, it cannot be visited but once a year, on the occasion of the anniversary of San Lorenzo, on August 11, the owners open it to the public. The building is beautiful, the views you can enjoy are worth the effort. Watch out for the road surface!
