The Baltic Sea resort of Binz is the seaside resort on Rügen par excellence. It is known for its sophisticated villas and resort architecture. A fine Baltic Sea beach awaits you here and you can swim wonderfully here - so it is naturally busy here even in summer. The Adler ships dock at the pier and you can go on great boat trips from here. But you can also go on very nice tours on foot from Binz: e.g. along the high shore path to Sellin or to Prora. When Rügen is in hibernation in winter, Binz is one of the few places on Rügen where there is something going on all year round.

The Binz pier is, alongside the spa, the landmark of the Baltic Sea resort of Binz. It is particularly beautiful to look at in the dark when it is illuminated. From the bridgehead you have a beautiful view of Binz. In summer you can also enjoy the wonderful sunset here. Since summer 2024 there has been a large heart on the bridgehead to which you can attach love locks. Various boat tours can be set off from the pierhead. Fishing is only permitted from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. during the season. The annual fireworks display is also very beautiful.

The Sellin pier is one of the landmarks of the island of Rügen. In my opinion, it's the most beautiful pier in the Baltic Sea. The view from above over the Himmelsleiter (Stairway to Heaven) and the pier itself is particularly impressive. A visit at sunrise is especially recommended! 👌 When visiting the pier, you can learn a lot about its history thanks to information panels. At the end of the pier, there's a diving gondola that allows you to dive to the seabed. The pier restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the kitchen is open from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

From here (to the left of Wilhelmstrasse) you have a wonderful view of the pier. There are also benches here from which you can let your gaze wander over the pier and the Baltic Sea. There is probably nothing more to say about the Sellin pier itself: in my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful piers on the Baltic Sea. I can particularly recommend the sunrise: a wonderful scenery and atmosphere!

The pier in Binz really impresses with its simplicity. You can enjoy the Baltic Sea there and let the wind blow around your nose. In the evening the pier is wonderfully illuminated. You can unwind there and just take a walk and not think about anything. We always enjoyed it very much! In addition, it is always very well maintained and clean. In any case, the pier is worth a walk, especially since you end up right in the city center! Great!

. A wonderful natural path through the beech forests of the Granitz, there was a smell of mushrooms, the leaves of the beech trees and the Baltic Sea blew its relatively mild breezes through the forest, just beautiful

On July 28, 1912, a tragedy happened on the pier in Binz. More than 1,000 people gathered on the 560-metre-long pier in anticipation of the steamer Prince Wilhelm. The bridge could not bear such a weight and the last span of it collapsed. More than 100 people fell into the sea. 16 people, including two children, could not be saved. Soldier Richard Römer, who saved 12 people from this disaster, is considered the "Father of the DLRG"
