This small area somehow seems enchanted and sleepy, and precisely because of that, it has a special charm. The small loop is not part of the species diversity trail, although the path leads directly past it. Apparently, few visitors come here, as the sun lounger is heavily mossy.

In addition to benches and a table, the rest area also has a sun lounger where you can soak up some sun even on a winter's day (if it shines). There is also a lovely view, so it's a great place to take a break.

The small Lieser stream meanders leisurely through the meadows. But that wasn't always the case. In the past, small streams in particular were straightened with pipes and stones so that the adjacent meadows could be used as well as possible. The many animals that live in and around the stream need a stream that is as natural as possible. With large stones and fine sand, with earthy banks, shallow and deep water spots. And it is also important for flood protection that the water does not flow too quickly downstream in heavy rain. The valley section visible here was renaturalized as a compensation measure - as reparation, so to speak - during the construction of the motorway. The small Lieser now flows again in a natural stream bed and offers fish, amphibians, insects and other animals and plants a new home. This is information point 1 on the "Bridge Views Hiking Trail", which opened in May 2024.

From this point you have a perfect view along the motorway, right through the Liesertal. The Liesertal Bridge spans almost 600 meters across the Lieser valley. If you look more closely you can see an earth dam at the front end of the valley bridge. When building the motorway through the hilly terrain, many cuts had to be dug into the landscape so that the motorway could run as straight as possible. In the almost 2.5-kilometer section between Darscheid and Regen alone, around 1.2 million cubic meters of earth were moved, which corresponds to 150,000 truckloads. This point is information point 2 on the Brückenblicke circular route, which opened in May 2024.
