The old train station in Preten is now a café. Unfortunately, the café is still closed in March. Opening hours from April to October are weekends and public holidays (Sat and Sun, 12 noon - 6 pm). The café belongs to the neighboring Seebürger sheep farm (https://schaeferei-seebuerger.de/), which also offers tours of its operations.

I was surprised by the small, cozy-looking ferry. The ferry was full with bikes, dog trailers and a group of cyclists.

There are repeated climbs to the top of the dyke, from where you have a beautiful panoramic view of the Elbe lowlands. The cycle path, even though it is made of concrete slabs, is easy to ride on, apart from a few bumps.
