Targi
October 22, 2026, Repentance Tower

The Repentance Tower stands on Trailtrow Hill in the Scottish region of Dumfries and Galloway. The watchtower, which is over 20 metres high, was built around 1560 and served to monitor potential English raids. Its unusual name comes from the word "Repentance" carved above the entrance. The exact meaning is unclear. From the hill, you can enjoy beautiful views over the landscape as far as the Solway Firth and the English coast.

Both of the footbridges between Brydekirk and Annan have been washed away. You can still walk along both river banks, you just cannot cross the river. The pub in Brydekirk is long closed.
