In 1243, the Wettin Margrave Henry the Illustrious (1221–1288) probably founded the convent of Marienthron near Torgau as a spiritual endowment for his recently deceased wife Constantia of Austria. The convent received extensive initial endowment: landed property, the two parishes of Altbelgern and Weßnig, and the Torgau church, partly from Wettin property that had once been intended for the Benedictine monastery of Reinhardsbrunn in 1119. In addition to material security, the Margrave succeeded in legally anchoring the convent. This was done through incorporation into the Cistercian Order (1244), with the men's monastery Cistercian Abbey of Pforta being designated as the mother house for the nuns. The monks of this abbey were to become confessors to the Marienthron nuns in the following centuries, the abbots of Pforta were granted the right of visitation in the women's abbey, and they were also responsible for pastoral care and support in economic matters there. In 1250, the nuns received the privilegium commune of the Cistercian Order from Pope Innocent IV (1243–1254), but the nuns did not obtain exemption from the diocesan bishop of Merseburg. This can be seen, for example, from a document by the bishop from 1279, which confirmed Marienthron's affiliation with the Cistercian Order, subject, however, to the episcopal rights.... The areas along the Mulde are particularly threatened by floods. During the August 2002 flood, Grimma was one of the most severely affected municipalities in Saxony, with damages amounting to 250 million euros. The June 2013 flood also left damages in the millions. In 2002, the first plans for flood protection, which statistically occurs every 100 years, began in Grimma. In total, the Free State of Saxony and the European Union are investing around 60 million euros in flood protection. The new flood protection facility for Grimma is technically and aesthetically very demanding. The goal was to skillfully combine flood protection, monument protection, and urban development. To find a suitable construction variant, the city was recreated on a 1:50 scale, and the model was flooded to simulate water currents. An underground cutoff wall, extending twelve meters deep, influences the natural groundwater flow. Eight wells control groundwater communication.

"A post mile marker of the Electorate of Saxony, colloquially also called a Saxon post mile marker or simply a post marker, is a milestone that indicates distances and walking times to within one-eighth of an hour. The design of the markers varies depending on the distance they represent; they can be in the form of an obelisk, an ancient herm, or a stele." - https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurs%C3%A4chsische_Postmeilens%C3%A4ule This is a quarter mile marker. Until 1998, it was erected on the B 176 in the Heinersdorf district near the bridge over the Heinersdorf stream on the old postal road Dresden – Colditz – Lausick – Borna, at Schildholz between Heinersdorf and Flößberg on the old postal route. Starting from the Ballendorf mile marker (number 36), it took 1.5 hours to reach mile marker number 39, which is approximately 6.75 km. Due to bridge construction and the danger it poses, the stone was moved. The milestone was made of porphyry tuff.
