Known as Buracos Mineiros, this is one of the many caves where a variety of prehistoric remains have been found, showing signs of human settlement in the Montejunto region. During the archaeological exploration of the cave, a staircase with a handrail was installed to allow easy access to it.

Along the Caminho da Meia Encosta you will find three old Forest Ranger's Houses. All of them were renovated a few years ago, and then left abandoned. Unfortunately, vandalism took over.

The Caminho da Meia Encosta runs along the southern side of the Serra de Montejunto and is suitable for cycling in both directions, although the east-west route is predominantly uphill. The terrain is quite uneven in some sections and you can expect to find some loose stones. The views over the southern side of the Serra de Montejunto are superb.

Road that connects the village of Abrigada to the Serra de Montejunto, crossing one of the most beautiful sections of the Serra de Montejunto. A steep route but worth the effort.

Initially, @baloicodomontejunto was designed based on drawings by two children, Luana and Isaac, and their father took care of making it real. After some photos of the children riding the swing were shared, the feedback from friends and acquaintances was enormous and that was when the idea of "improving" the swing as baloiçodomontejunto and making it public came about. "Unintentionally, a tourist attraction was created that hundreds of families experience every week." Rafael Gregório

This area, which is home to vast meadows, owes its name to the fact that in the past (80 or 90 years ago) it was a place where wild cattle were allowed to graze freely. Next to a small lake created to retain rainwater (surface water is rare in the Serra de Montejunto, as it is a mountain made up mostly of limestone), you can still see the ruins of an old stable where the animals spent the night to protect themselves from the cold. Today, this area, especially in the autumn and winter months, is used as a grazing area for goats and sheep. In the spring and summer, these fertile meadows are used by the populations of the nearby villages (Cercal and Rocha Forte) to grow crops such as potatoes and other dryland crops.
