The 83-ton slab is 25 meters high and 7 meters wide. 700 kilograms of paint are needed to paint the surface. The last coat of paint was applied in 2016 to coincide with the opening of the 230-kilometer-long Ruhr Valley Cycle Path, the start and end point of which is the landmark. The slab "glows" particularly in the evening sun, while the city panorama and Lower Rhine landscape are already showing evening gray. Electric lighting now extends the "glow" into the night. The sculpture is also part of the Route of Industrial Heritage with 25 anchor points, which connects various industrial sites, panoramas and settlements in the Ruhr area with the help of themed routes.
