The avenue will certainly look even more beautiful from May onwards, when all the leaves are there. Like this, but already very beautiful.

Bergkirchen Watermill (19th-century fittings) on a reservoir with an overshot waterwheel (diameter: 3.8 m) in an older building (18th century?). The mill was converted from an undershot to an overshot drive in the 19th century. Two grinding mills and an oil mill with a pan grinder and hydraulic press are present and functional. It's the section of the Weser Cycle Route between the railway bridge and the motorway bridge, where the popular long-distance cycle route crosses the river. There are certainly more striking and beautiful sections of the Weser Cycle Route than this one. I'm always glad to leave the horrible motorway bridge and the traffic noise behind me.

The lack of seating is a thing of the past. Tables and benches in the mill garden invite you to linger. At the end of the season, the tables and benches will be moved under the shed. Here, you (and your bike) can find shelter from rain, thunderstorms, etc.
