Pontresina is the starting point for countless hikes and this one to St Moritz is nice for relaxing after more exertion. Can be extended in various ways.

Wonderful trail in the upper part of Val da fain. Almost no more incline, mostly a flowing meadow trail until La Stretta. From there down into the Livigno valley via a steep, very long staircase (only the lowest third is rideable for normally skilled MTB riders), or via the very exposed, difficult trail on the slope directly to Fuorcola di Livigno. Or simply (on foot) to the small mountain lakes nearby.

To return to Livigno, at the top of the Valle del Fieno, take the path on your left, you must carry the bike by hand. DO NOT take the path on the right, it is impassable and DANGEROUS.
