This military cemetery was created in 1876 after the defeat of General Custer's 7th Cavalry Regiment. It houses some of the dead from the Battle of Little Big Horn which took place in Montana. This famous site is called the Battle of Greasy Grass by the Arapahoes, Cheyennes and Lakotas. They were victorious on June 25 and 26, 1876.
