The stone bridge and high street are so pretty and peaceful it’s a bit of a shock to find you’re actually just a stone’s throw from two busy A roads. There is a slightly hidden bike path to take you under the A1 if you look for it.

Circular walks are very common in this area. The landscape, with its network of footpaths and riverside trails, is perfect for creating loops so you can end your walk where you started. Many routes are designed this way, offering a varied experience without the need to retrace your steps.
While much of the landscape is characterized by flat agricultural fields, the trails offer more variety than you might expect. Other trails, like the Bluebells in Sulehay Wood loop from Wansford, take you through peaceful, wooded areas, which are especially beautiful in spring.
Many trails in the Elton area are suitable for walking with a dog. However, since the routes often cross agricultural land, you should be prepared to encounter livestock.
