The parish of Sant Andreu is already documented in 1083, but this church is not that one: the current one began to be built in 1825 and was inaugurated in 1848 because the town had grown and the medieval temple had been left away from the center. The curious thing is inside: it preserves a 16th-century baptismal font, probably from the old church. And the image of Sant Andreu that currently presides over the altar is also not the original: it is from after the Civil War. So the building is about 200 years old, the font about 500, and the parish almost 1,000. One of those places that seem to have nothing special until you start to scratch a little.

This small hermitage has more lives than a cat. During the Civil War it was looted and reduced to practically three walls. The image of the Virgin had better luck: the farmers of Can Preses hid it during the war. Then came the most surreal thing: abandoned for decades, its ruins ended up serving as a home for charcoal burners. In 2009, the local people got tired of seeing it die, gathered money and work, and managed to rebuild it. And just when it seemed the place was regaining its calm, in 2010 a storm with winds of over 100 km/h felled the gigantic two-hundred-year-old oak tree that stood in front. They even tried to clone it so it wouldn't disappear completely. A hidden Virgin, a looted hermitage, charcoal burners living within its walls, and a cloned tree. For a small chapel lost in the Montnegre, quite a few things have happened here.

Watchtower located next to the summit of El Corredor, very close to the sanctuary. From here, a huge expanse of forest is controlled, and during the summer campaign, it is part of the forest fire surveillance and detection system. Next to the tower is also the geodesic vertex of El Corredor. As a curiosity, these mountains have been used for centuries as observation points. In the El Far area, the ancient Torrassa del Moro was part of a territorial surveillance system in which the towers could communicate by smoke during the day and fire at night. Means have changed a lot, but the function has not changed so much: from these heights, the forest and a large part of the territory surrounding El Corredor continue to be monitored.

Good morning route. No difficulties

It is one of those spots that go unnoticed if you don't know what's there. It is an old spring, linked to the historic paths that connected Mataró with the interior, when these passes were usual work and transport routes. The name comes from a fig tree that traditionally gave shade to the place, marking the stopping point. Little-known detail: this area is part of a network of old rural roads that climb towards the Corredor, and the pass acted as a strategic point for passage and rest before the tougher sections. Even today, if you pay attention, the surroundings maintain that logic: a place to stop, regroup, and continue. A discreet corner, but with much more history than meets the eye.
