A cultural complex designed by the famous Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer and inaugurated in 2011. It consists of several cone-shaped buildings and a large central square. Inside there is a concert hall, a theater, several exhibition halls, a cinema and a library. The design of the Center is very characteristic with its organic curves that Oscar Niemeyer used in many of his other projects. In addition, it has several murals and sculptures designed by Niemeyer himself.

San Nicolás de Bari attracts visitors from all over the world who come to admire its architecture and Gothic art. The church is dedicated to Saint Nicholas of Myra, also known as Saint Nicholas of Bari, who was a 4th-century bishop in what is now modern Turkey. It was built in the Gothic style between the 13th and 14th centuries. One of its most outstanding features is its impressive collection of altarpieces, dating from the 15th and 16th centuries. They feature intricate carvings and elaborate paintings, and are considered some of the best examples of Gothic art in Asturias.

The Avilés estuary is a natural estuary that flows into the sea through San Juan de Nieva. Along the Avilés estuary you can see different cultural elements, for example the San Sebastian Bridge, and a series of seven sculptures by local artists made from waste materials from the Arcelor factory (the steel route).
