Take your time to explore the winding alleys of Gordes without a fixed destination. Behind every corner, you will find beautiful natural stone houses, small archways, blooming facades, and always impressive views over the Luberon. Especially in the early morning hours or late afternoon, the atmosphere is calmer and the warm light makes the village appear particularly picturesque. Comfortable shoes are recommended, as the streets are steep and paved with cobblestones.

A visit to Château de Gordes is especially worthwhile for the impressive view over the Luberon. Take your time to stroll through the winding alleys of the historic village and enjoy the atmosphere. A visit early in the morning or at sunset is particularly beautiful, when the warm light bathes the light-colored natural stone facades in golden hues and there are significantly fewer visitors. Don't forget your camera – the view is one of the most beautiful in Provence.

From the simple path on the upper edge of the gorge, there are great views of the rock faces and in particular a rock window that reminds me a lot of Lord of the Rings. 😂

The ruins themselves aren't much to look at anymore, but the path through the gorge is very pretty in this section too - and a relaxing walk.

An impressive gorge with a very varied route. If you take enough time, there are no serious technical difficulties, despite some scrambling. Behind the Moulin Jean de Marre, there's an easy exit to the east.

Immediately after descending into the gorge, you reach the ruins of this old mill. The walls aren't particularly impressive, but the following section along the former water channel is very beautiful and varied.
