Before 1885, the city of Grasse was supplied by the Source de la Foux. But with the founding of factories and perfumeries, his inflow quickly became insufficient. In 1874 the Municipality of Grasse became the owner of Source Foulon. Plans were approved in 1878 and the canal was inaugurated on July 21, 1889. It includes numerous structures above the cavity and 22 tunnels for a total length of 2600 m. The classic aqueduct-style work is replaced in the 1950s by the large tube (60 cm diameter) currently in place.

However, do not do this hike if you are afraid of heights or with young children as the trail often reaches a very impressive 200m drop down the Gorges du Loup! And through the gaps in the tunnels, the magnificent view is often very dizzying.
