This route was planned by komoot.
This route is considered one of the most fascinating trails in the Massif thanks to the numerous, still clearly visible, traces left by the Great War. The Meatte-Boccaor area was indeed strategic for supplying the front lines and as a valuable base for cableways. Constructed by the Italian Civil Engineers as an immediate rear-line structure to move or receive troops away from the fire of the Austro-Hungarian Army, which was present on the Solaroli ridge (to the northwest) and Mount Spinoncia (to the northeast), it displays clear signs of the war, such as a series of tunnels and some sections of trenches.
One of the various rings from San Liberale, crampons are essential for the icy sections, some points with increased exposure from the snow piles
The Giro di Perse offers wonderful views! But at every corner you are presented with historical evidence of the great war which always deserves reflection. The advice I can give is! The first 4.5km are quite challenging. You need good training... or a lot of calm... pay attention to sudden changes in the weather.
Today we had climbed up to an altitude of 1600m in the Venetian Pre-Alps. The weather today was sub-optimal for the view, which on a clear day stretches as far as Venice. The mood in the light fog was very mystical and every now and then Petrus pulled up the blind for a short time 🤣🤣 It was wonderful, albeit exhausting and even rockier and steeper than yesterday😅
Too bad the weather, easy trails to do even a MTB.
