A short hike from Greve through the local vineyards and to the old Montefioralle fortress. Greve is pleasant, but busy and not as secluded as other villages. A narrow, pleasantly shady hiking trail leads directly from the center uphill. Later, you continue on a wider gravel path, offering repeated beautiful views of the valley and the Montefioralle fortress. You reach this fortress halfway through the tour – very quaint and still very deserted in the morning. (Unfortunately, so deserted that there wasn't even a bar.) After a somewhat tedious stretch along the road, you finally descend gently back through vineyards, past the currently closed church of San Cresci and various works of art that are part of the "Slow Road." Conclusion: Varied and with many postcard-like views of the landscape. Montefioralle is the highlight.
Second hike of the day, 40 minutes by car from the first. Very pretty loop, very windy but sunny. Beautiful views, pretty villages, Tuscany is definitely beautiful.
It was a wonderful tour 🥰 Exactly how I like it... that's Tuscany ☺
