📍 Heidelandweg 🐑🌾💜 Hövelhof circular hiking trail A good starting point is the hiking car park 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐞𝐢𝐜𝐡. From here you go on soft natural paths through beautiful pine forests. Again and again you come across large clearings that end in a sea of heather 💜. Only the semi-wild Senner horses are well hidden. Instead we came across a large flock of sheep in full action. We continued on to the source of the Ems and an 8 degree cold foot bath 😅 very refreshing in the warm temperatures today 🌞 The route is easy to walk, also because of the predominantly cool forest sections. A really nice tour through the Hövel-Senne. And we wish the bride and groom at the end of the road all the best 👰🏼♀️🤵🏼♂️💍❤️
Nice little hiking tour at the Emsquellen, which are always worth a trip.
A small group that is quite relaxed in this weather. The Moosheide around the Ems, Kroll and Fuhrlnach is a popular excursion destination and even in rainy weather there was still a lot going on. Some of the wet meadows were very wet and couldn't be crossed with low shoes without getting your feet wet. 💪😃
The perfect day for the Moosheide Bright blue sky and sun and still "only" 21 degrees So you could enjoy the walk perfectly and get your fill of the purple heather....❤️😍
The weather is much better than the forecast🌥 It drizzled a little until 10 a.m., and by the time we had finished breakfast🥐...personal hygiene🚿...clothing selection👡👗...it was 11 a.m.😀. We cycled to the Ems information center, parked our bikes there, took selfies at the starting point ✔️ visited the information center✔️ We then hiked the Heideland circular hiking trail. From a distance we could watch the Senne horses and young Highland Cattle cattle having lunch. It is beautiful in the Moosheide, relaxing, full of nature. The sun didn't show up, but it stayed dry at 17° 📸🔝🚶♀️➡️🚶🏼♀️😍
From the parking lot of the Emsquellen Information Center we went on this beautiful round. The path led almost exclusively over natural paths. The fresh green, combined with the singing of the birds and the warm sunlight, made the hike a close-to-nature experience away from the hustle and bustle.
It is a dream to see the heather in bloom, when large areas are aglow with the delicate lilac shade of heather. And that's exactly what I'm hoping for from the Heideland circular hiking trail near Hövelhof. The path leads through a light pine forest and is mainly bordered by low blueberry bushes. Occasionally I can also discover small, dried blueberries, but their time is already over. The path itself has a pleasant spring and I occasionally see some sand, which is probably a main component of the subsoil. Because even if it doesn't seem like it, the small hills along the way are actually wooded dunes. Wet meadows interrupt the wide pine forest, but it is another open space in the middle of the forest that makes my eyes shine: wide blooming heather. Very beautiful!!! Temporarily I lose control of the triggering finger on the camera and so it goes on as I stumble straight into the next heath paradise. Luckily I brought a lot of time with me. After countless photos, I reach the stairs that lead me to the seepage sources of the Ems. A boardwalk leads through the small valley where the water comes to the surface. The ground is initially only muddy between lush ferns, but only a few meters away a small mini-stream forms - the young Ems. My path continues along a fence and I research the area behind it. And I'm lucky and discover the Senner horses, which have been used here as landscape gardeners since the 12th century. And after a long break, they're back. I come across the Ems again, which has now grown into a wide stream. And at the end, the path even leads through blooming heather again. Then I reach the parking lot enthusiastically and with a well-filled memory card. You can find a lot more tips and information about hiking in the Teutoburg Forest in my current blog post: https://www.couchaway.de/teutoburger-wald-wandern/
Last year I wanted to do this lap during the heather blossom, but somehow I didn't make it. So today I made up for it and after half an hour I wished I had been there two hours earlier. But I just thought, where the €9 ticket is no longer available, you don't have to get up with the chickens anymore. The Heideland Rundweg is beautiful, very purple-green, the blooming heather looks just fantastic and at the Emsquelle and the Ems (which is just a stream here) it is really idyllic. There is almost no asphalt at all (a few meters in the parking lot), you either walk on forest, hiking or Sennesand trails. Very pleasant! In addition to sections in the middle of the sun, there are always sections with lots of shade. There are also some benches and rest areas. There are no climbs at all, but two flights of stairs. There is also a nice section on wooden bridges, really rustic through a small valley. If this small tour is not enough, you can, for example, extend / expand it with the Emsquellen hiking trail. BUT you have to be prepared for the fact that it is full on the track! Walkers <3, hikers, on the Ems cycle path also cyclists, day trippers, photographers (how I was suddenly ashamed of my camera and the Osmo) and and and. With the weather today, all hell broke loose! But I have to go there again, because I discovered the GEOtour Paderborn there and, due to the lack of a network, I was only able to see what it is at home. It's an action especially for geocachers. I'll definitely be there!
