The route, with start and finish in Gardone Val Trompia, is among the longest in the Collection, but can still be tackled in the space of a day. It focuses in particular on the western side of the Trompia Valley.
The departure is gentle and winds along the cycle/pedestrian path, which mostly connects secondary roads and is characterized by long stretches away from car traffic.
Pedal up to the entrance of a rather arduous climb. From the town of Bovegno, walk the difference in height that leads you to the Dosso Rotondo refuge: here the welcome is always good! On fine days, I suggest you sit outside, so you can enjoy the 360° view of the surrounding mountains.
Now that you're at high altitude, pedal on the "wire" between Valle Trompia and Valle Camonica, taking advantage of some paths that - unfortunately - were not accessible to bicycles until recently. Recently, however, they have been enlarged and adapted also to be traveled on two wheels.
The track, almost always unpaved and along mountain roads, leads to Colle di San Zeno passing through the homonymous mountain. This pass separates Valle Trompia from Lake Iseo, and is also known for the presence of the Piardi refuge, which is always open (if you need it, take the opportunity to refresh yourself).
At this point the tiredness makes itself felt, since the kilometers and the altitude difference are quite demanding. The route develops mainly away from the roads and tests your physical and mental fitness. But don't give up right now!
Guide at the foot of Monte Guglielmo, which stands imposingly in front of you with its approximately 2000 meters of altitude and enters the wildest part of the Tour. After the Stalletti Alti malga, the vegetation changes and becomes thicker: in fact, you are at the inside the forest, a completely different environment from what we have seen so far.
With the right amount of attention, face the descent and, without too much difficulty, follow a fantastic path that runs smoothly up to Passata di Anveno.
The circular route ends with the last three kilometers of high technical difficulty. In the most difficult points you may have to dismount the saddle.
The ideal bicycle for the Tour, except for the last stretch, is a classic cross country mountain bike, front or full for greater comfort.
