Valloré Footbridges

Highlight • Gorge

This interesting and picturesque route runs through the Guadalope River ravine and can be a real challenge for many. With sections of walkway hanging over the riverbed, some sections with ascent assisted by chains and sectors with steep walls, it is a path not suitable for those who suffer from vertigo, but for those who do not, it is a walk that you cannot miss!

This wasn't an easy hike as described by komoot... Lots of sections with rope climbing... But I had a lot of fun and then there was the great Rio hiking trail👍👍

What is the overall difficulty level of the Mirador de Valloré – circular route?

The difficulty of this route is mixed. While the sections along the Valloré Footbridges over the Río Guadalope are generally considered easy and accessible, the ascent to the Valloré Viewpoint is more demanding. This part involves steep sections, some equipped with cables and staples, requiring good physical condition.

How long does it typically take to complete this circular route?

The entire circular route is approximately 3.9 kilometers long and generally takes between 2 to 3 hours to complete, depending on your pace and how much time you spend enjoying the views.

What are the main points of interest along the trail?

The trail offers several notable features. You'll experience the impressive wooden Valloré Footbridges that navigate the narrow sections of the Río Guadalope. The Valloré Viewpoint provides breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding canyons and the Río Guadalope straits. You'll also encounter dramatic geological formations like Boca Infierno and observe the Muela del Gabardal and Hoz Mala.

Is the Mirador de Valloré trail suitable for individuals with vertigo or a fear of heights?

The ascent to the Valloré Viewpoint includes exposed sections along rock faces, equipped with cables and staples, and a vertical ascent aided by staples. These parts may not be suitable for individuals with vertigo or a significant fear of heights.

When is the best time of year to hike this route?

The trail can be enjoyed during most seasons. Spring and autumn generally offer the most pleasant temperatures and vibrant scenery. Summer can be hot, so an early start is recommended. Winter hiking is possible, but be prepared for potentially colder conditions and check for any ice on the equipped sections.

Where can I park to access the trailhead?

The trail starts in Montoro de Mezquita, Teruel. Specific parking information is usually available near the village center or designated trailhead areas. It's advisable to check local signage upon arrival for the most current parking options.

Is the PR-TE 81 trail dog-friendly?

The route also includes wooden walkways over the Río Guadalope, and a vertical ascent aided by staples before reaching the viewpoint. The return journey involves similar equipped descents.
