This circular hike usually takes around 1 hour and 53 minutes to complete. This duration is for the full 6.6 km route, but your actual time may vary depending on your pace and how long you spend enjoying the views.
Yes, the trail is generally considered easy and suitable for most fitness levels, including families. It's also dog-friendly, making it a great option for a family outing with your furry companion.
You can start the route from the outskirts of L'Hospitalet de l'Infant or near the Templo del Sol naturist campsite. Both locations offer convenient access to the trailhead.
The terrain is quite varied. You'll encounter mostly natural paths (about 3.66 km), unpaved sections (2.37 km), and some flat stones (497 m), with very little asphalt. While generally easy, some areas along the Costa Daurada can involve steep downhill sections and even light climbing for more advanced hikers.
The route offers magnificent panoramic views of the Costa Daurada coastline. Key highlights include the beautiful Platja del Torn, known for its fine sand and transparent waters, and Punta de la Rojala, which is the highest point and offers expansive coastal views. You'll also pass by Cala Bea and the El Torn Islet with its 16th-century fortification.
Yes, sections of this route overlap with other established trails. You'll find parts of the Catalunya E28, GR-92, Camí de la Cantera de RENFE, and Passeig de l'Arenal integrated into the circular path.
The Costa Daurada generally offers pleasant weather for hiking for much of the year. Spring and autumn are ideal for comfortable temperatures and lush scenery. Summer can be hot, so an early morning or late afternoon hike is recommended if visiting during peak season.
No, there are no specific permits or entrance fees required to hike this trail. The area, known as La Rojala-Platja del Torn, is a protected natural reserve and part of the European Natura 2000 Network, emphasizing its significant landscape and biodiversity value, but it remains freely accessible to the public.
Absolutely! Platja del Torn is renowned for its fine sand and transparent waters, making it an excellent spot for swimming. It's a natural beach surrounded by pine trees and cliffs, and has received certifications like the Blue Flag, indicating high environmental quality.
Platja del Torn is a Protected Nature Reserve recognized for its unique landscape and long-standing naturist tradition. It's home to El Templo del Sol, a naturist campsite, and boasts certifications like the Blue Flag and ISO 14001, highlighting its environmental quality and services.
Magnificent half-trail half-mountainous hike accessible to everyone even if you need a minimum of physical condition and good shoes. There were 8 of us with 4 children. The youngest was 11 years old. Be careful, small precision, we pass near a campsite and naturist beaches. On the other hand, very complicated with a dog because the circuit is not very shaded and some slopes are steep. Finally, the biggest fight is against the heat so bring water, lots and lots of water.
An easy circular hike with a beautiful view of the sea and Hospitalet de l'Infant. Small disadvantage is that you can hear the highway on the way there. But the el Torn is part of the list 💯 CiMS (100 peaks). It is thus part of the 522 peaks listed in the Catalonia region, of which 100 should be done (see https://www.feec.cat/activitats/100-cims/ ). And since the el Torn is so easy to reach, it's practically a 'gift'. I have already explored 3 of these peaks with it: a) the Molló Puntaire (https://www.feec.cat/activitats/100-cims/cim/mollo-puntaire/), see tours https://www.komoot.de/tour/689950066 and https:// www.komoot.de/tour/690154778 b) the Mola de Genessies (https://www.feec.cat/activitats/100-cims/cim/mola-de-genesies/ ), see tour https://www.komoot.de/tour/1046740760 and c) the El Torn (https://www.feec.cat/activitats/100-cims/cim/el-torn/ ) with today's round 😃. At point 30.3 it is worth taking 3 steps off the path and looking under the rocks. There is a small crib set up. On the way back via Playa Torn, it should be noted that this is a nudist beach.
