Are there places to rest or have a picnic along the way?

April 11, 2023, 🇪🇸 Durch den Naturpark 🌴🦩 zu den Cuevas del Rodeo 🎨🖼 in Rojales

Since I know the area here from last year's stay, I wanted to do it today - as I often did last year! - "Flamingo watching" go in the Natural Park de La Mata. Unfortunately none of the long-legged pink birds could be seen far and wide 🦩🦩🦩 (big disappointment!), so I "coppered" the tour into a "Kunscht" tour without further ado. I knew from the town of Rojales that there is (1) really nice street art to look at there 🖼 (I really enjoy going "hunting" for these house wall motifs in the town!), that there (2) this really fantastic artist area is located in the former cave dwellings 🖌🎨 (Cuevas del Rodeo - see: https://www.komoot.de/tour/662411905), and that there is an excellent micro-brewery in Rojales (3) (Triple Brew An absolute recommendation!🍻). So this tour - despite my disappointment about the "shiny" flamingos due to their absence - was a really complete success, especially because the weather was perfect today! There was no wind and it was hot 🥵 but I will NEVER complain about that! 😍👍

This is exactly what I wanted: blue skies, pleasant temperatures... perfect cycling weather. After it had poured rain for half the night, I wasn't sure whether I should tackle the dirt roads in the Mata Natural Park. I took the plunge and was rewarded – the (surprisingly few) puddles were easy to avoid 🙌🏻 To my great delight, "my long-legged friends," the flamingos, were back this year – and in droves 😳 – after not a single 🦩 was seen in the lagoons last year 🤷🏻‍♀️ In short: this was a tour to enjoy – let's keep it up ☀️😍 And, just to say it right away: I had promised my dear friends that I wouldn't soak up all the sunshine here, but would also send a good portion "up" (to 🇩🇪). That seems to have worked!? 😜🙌🏻
