This route was planned by komoot.
The trail is a moderate hike that generally takes around 2 to 3 hours to complete at a leisurely pace. While the komoot tour suggests approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, your actual duration may vary depending on your pace and how long you spend exploring the points of interest.
Yes, while rated as moderate, the trail is generally accessible for beginners with a reasonable level of fitness. It's a circular route primarily following paths and tracks. Be prepared for some irregular terrain with stones and narrow sections, and always wear appropriate footwear.
The trail features varied terrain, predominantly following unpaved paths and tracks. You'll encounter sections with stones and some narrow passages, but these are typically manageable. The route winds through diverse vegetation, including pines, holm oaks, and cork oaks, characteristic of the Parc Natural del Montnegre i el Corredor.
The highlight of the trail is undoubtedly the ancient Dolmen de Ca l'Arenes, a megalithic burial site. You'll also pass by the Corredor Viewpoint, offering panoramic views, and the unique Pi Cargolat (Twisted Stone Pine). Other notable features include the Font del Ferro (Iron Fountain) and the Masia Can Miloca farmhouse.
The trail can be enjoyed year-round. Spring and autumn offer pleasant temperatures and vibrant scenery, with autumn being particularly good for mushroom spotting. Summer can be warm, so an early start is recommended, along with plenty of water and sun protection. Winter hiking is also possible, but check weather conditions for potential colder temperatures.
Yes, the trail is generally dog-friendly. However, as it's located within the Parc Natural del Montnegre i el Corredor, it's always best to keep your dog on a leash to protect local wildlife and ensure a pleasant experience for all hikers.
No, there are typically no entrance fees or permits required to access the Parc Natural del Montnegre i el Corredor or to hike this specific trail. However, always respect park regulations, such as staying on marked paths and not disturbing wildlife or vegetation.
The trail is located near Dosrius, Catalunya. While specific parking areas aren't detailed, many hikers access the trail from areas within the Parc Natural del Montnegre i el Corredor. Look for designated parking spots near trailheads or visitor centers within the park, such as around the Can Bosc farmhouse, which is a starting point for some routes.
Yes, the route intersects with several other trails. You'll find sections that overlap with the Catalunya E15, GR 92 BTT, and Canyamars - Santuari del Corredor trails. It's also part of the longer Montgat-Tordera and TransCatalunya. De la Mediterrània routes for a portion of its length.
While the trail itself is in a natural park setting, the nearby area of Dosrius or other villages surrounding the Parc Natural del Montnegre i el Corredor may offer cafes, restaurants, and basic amenities. For a more inclusive experience, a shorter route adapted for individuals with mobility challenges starts from the Can Bosc farmhouse, which might have some basic facilities.
For a comfortable hike, we recommend bringing appropriate footwear (hiking shoes or boots), sufficient water, sun protection (hat, sunscreen), and snacks. Depending on the season, layers of clothing are advisable. A map or GPS device is also useful, though the trail is well-signposted as a local path (SL-C 80) with white and green markers.
Sometimes you are lucky in bad luck! We had made a reservation for lunch in the restaurant of the Santuari del Corredor on the terrace. Cancellation by the restaurant due to expected rain 30 minutes before arrival. So we had a lot of time to look around the Corredor / Montnegre region. This is how we discovered the fantastic Dolmen de Ca l'Arenes, which can be found in a clearing in the middle of the forest. Our way did lead us to the Corredor and now we were very lucky, because the rain fell out and we could still have a delicious lunch. On the way back we looked at the "Font del Grevol" spring and enjoyed a fantastic view of the sea, Montnegre and distant Barcelona from a nearby Mirrador.
