terricolo solitario
July 8, 2025, San Carlone prima del temporale

I almost made it around San Carlone before the storm. Unfortunately, the Charlie Brown bar in Belgirate was closed, and I had to drink lousy barley at the Manzoni bar in Lesa, run by Chinese people 🤮 ... I do not recommend it. Arriving in Gozzano, after a clear, sunny morning, I see some threatening clouds towards the Cusio area. I immediately check 3b 😱 A storm is forecast for 1 pm over Omegna; it's almost noon and I'm alone in Gozzano! Off to full speed home: "I'll be there before the storm. I'll come to shelter you on the road. I can cover you and wait for the sun to rise. We won't be cold anymore..."

Silvera is a pretty hamlet on the hills of the upper Vergante where an ancient club is still operating and can restore you with its home cooking at a good price. It was our fixed stop when we went down by mountain bike from the crest that separates the Agogna from the Vergante on the Armeno Colazza route and today instead I arrived by racing bike going up from Meina, Piantini, Ghevio. I recommend a stop.
