Monastery of Sant Salvador de Breda

Highlight • Religious Site

Former Benedictine monastery located in the municipality of Breda, in the Selva region, at the foot of the Montseny Natural Park. Along with the rest of the old town, they are listed as a Historic Artistic Monument in 1974.

Little of the original construction remains. The bell tower, built in the 11th century, is the best preserved building. It consists of a slender 32-meter tower with a rectangular floor plan.

Montsoriu Castle

Highlight • Castle

Beautiful castle with stunning views of the surrounding country side. You can have a guided visit of the castle which lasts around 90 minutes. There's also an option without a guide that comes with a guide book in muliple languages. Well worth a visit. The main tower has an unbeatable 360 panoramic view of the whole area.

Sant Martí de Riells Church

Highlight • Religious Site

The first documentary record of the site of "Riellos" is found in a precept dated September 9, 878. With the founding of the monastery of Breda in 1038, it came under its direct jurisdiction. In 1169 there is already written evidence that the church of Riells is dedicated to Sant Martí de Tours. In 1957 the parish became part of the Bishopric of Barcelona and the Bishopric of Girona. Sant Martí de Riells is currently the parish church of Riells i Viabrea.
