The nearly 53-kilometer loop begins in Hamminkeln-Dingden, takes you through the countryside along the Issel River, through small villages, and back through the beautiful Issel floodplain. The route leads you towards Isselburg – it doesn't get much more rural than this! You'll cycle along the Issel floodplain, through the Wertherbruch…

This tour started in Dingden at the cemetery (again with GPS false start; start from the 7000er 😉) then always along the Issel to Anholt. Have a quick look past the castle and sharply along the Dutch border to the "Aa". Then always along the river to Bocholt. Around the Aasee and back towards Dingden. Since Dingden has two cemeteries, we first drove into the wrong one and were surprised that our car wasn't there. 😲 Everything without sun and moderate wind. I took over some areas from Frank 👌. Thanks again for that. With a little sun, the tour would have been ideal.

🚲😊 We drove a new route for well-known highlights from Dingden 🚲 a bit along the Issel 🚲 we had a snack on the Protbank 🚲 on the Isseldeich to Werth to the church ⛪️ St. Peter and Paul....and the historic town hall 🚲 on to Isselburg to the town tower 🚲 stopover at the Alm Ruhe restaurant on the Anholter Schweiz 🚲 visited the beautiful moated castle in Anholter. You can still visit the castle from the outside without paying an entrance fee 🚲 take photos of the Anholt crypt chapel and continue 🚲 along the Aa-Strang to the Eisenhütte bakery 🚲 we continued along the Bocholter Aa to Bocholt 🚲 over the Poduimsbrücke to the Schiffchen restaurant......eat a bite to eat 😋🍲 🚲 of course we didn't miss the Aasee to get to the water snail 🚲 we drove through the Dingdener Heide to the start and finish point 🚗 🚲🤗 best wishes for cyclists

So a really great tour. Anyone who comes to the area should definitely ride the Bocholter Aa cycle path - a wonderful cycle path and a great area.

A very nice, varied tour. Finish at the Greek restaurant Syrtaki😋 Aa cycle path to Bocholt is very busy on Sundays.

..... today nothing but green and great cycle paths. Criss-crossing the Ijssel, through Anholter Schweiz, a quick visit to our Dutch neighbours and along the Bocholter Aa into the city of Bocholt. A fantastically beautiful route, highly recommended!

Left of the Aa, right of the Aa and over the Aa 😉 Two short showers today, I took shelter, otherwise dry 😃 Following Christa's tip, I added the city forest, very beautiful and large. The Aasee is also very beautiful, I also liked Bocholt, very bike-friendly 👍

Beautiful route from Anhalt (D) for about 20 km via a beautiful nature trail along the river Aa to Bocholt. From Bocholt via the marshland at Bungersche Heide via Isselburg (a bit boring) back again. Starting point is at the Anholt church and where there is a church, there is also a pub!
