This route was planned by komoot.
Easy and pleasant walk in the woods above Suna/Fondotoce. We start from the small car park in Cavandone (500m) and follow a comfortable, well-marked and almost flat path until a left turn to go up towards the Il Monterosso farmhouse (720m). Having made the necessary stop, follow the short Sentiero dei Faggi (a bit of coolness on a hot summer day) to return to the previous crossroads and this time turn left. In a few minutes you reach the Belvedere with a view of Pallanza and the Borromean Gulf. From here the route becomes narrower and more bumpy up to the small town of Soranzo (it is here that I saw a beautiful and shy roe deer and a large wild boar). An easy path then takes us back to the town of Cavandone from where we started
It was thunderstormy again today, so we planned a short loop above Verbania. It was a leisurely loop, peppered with beautiful views. At the top of Monte Rosso, there's a great restaurant with an outdoor terrace overlooking Lake Maggiore. The loop can be extended; there are always small paths that branch off and lead back. For us, it was enough to get to the car dry.
Beautiful hike through varied, original forests. Unfortunately, the beautiful views were quite limited. (You just walk in the forest😂😂😂) The town of Cavendone with its narrow streets is well worth seeing
