Girona is undoubtedly a hot spot for racing bike fans, but you are also in good hands here with a gravel bike, because around the city you will find fantastic gravel paths in a picturesque setting. The possibilities to let off steam here with the gravel bike are almost endless.
The train takes you from Sants Estació to Girona in just an hour and a half. Once there, you first take a short tour of the city, which is well worth seeing, and treat yourself to a coffee in one of the well-known bicycle cafés. Incidentally, some of the shops organize their own rides with racing or gravel bikes.
Now it's time to get out of the city and into nature. After about ten kilometers you will reach the steep, but also the only climb for today. You slowly fight your way up the rough and demanding gravel terrain.
Once at the top, a brilliant view of the Serrat de la Malesa awaits you. Not long now and you will reach Amer, where the marketplace invites you to take a half-time break. The rest of the route runs over flat terrain and on dead-straight gravel paths that really let you pick up speed.
