This route was planned by komoot.
On what is expected to be the hottest day of the week, no long tour is planned, but cooling off at the lake. However, we use the way there to pay a visit to the Monne Gorge. The small river drains the Monts Dore towards the east and has already gained a lot of strength at the height of Olloix, where there is a small circular path. From the hill there were beautiful views of the Allier valley in clear weather. The path into and through the gorge was nice and shady and cooled by the flowing water - purely subjectively, I found the part along the river just a little short. There are paths on the map that follow the course of the river for much longer, and we looked at the path a little further. Downstream of the signposted part it was a bit too overgrown for our level of adventurousness today. So we went back to the loop, but at least we met a friendly cat.
Narrow path on the banks of the Monne, passages where it makes you climb
