This route was planned by komoot.
The Komoot tour data suggests this hike typically takes around 3 hours and 15 minutes. However, depending on your pace, breaks, and how much time you spend enjoying the Dasdana Waterfalls, it could take up to 5 hours.
This is a moderate hike. It requires good fitness and sure-footedness, as there might be uneven or rocky sections. It's more challenging than a casual stroll but doesn't demand advanced mountaineering skills.
Yes, the trail is generally dog-friendly. However, always keep your dog on a leash, especially in areas with wildlife or other hikers, and be prepared to pack out any waste.
The best time to hike this trail is typically during the warmer months, from late spring to early autumn (May to October). During these periods, the weather is usually more stable, and the waterfalls are often at their most impressive. Always check local weather conditions before you go.
The starting point of the Dasdana Waterfalls - Ring tour is conveniently located next to a parking lot, making access straightforward for those arriving by car.
The trail features varied terrain. It's predominantly unpaved, with sections of gravel and some asphalt. You'll also encounter a small alpine portion, and sure-footedness is required due to potentially uneven or rocky paths.
Absolutely! The highlight of the tour is undoubtedly the Dasdana Waterfalls and Dasdana Falls themselves. You'll also get a fantastic View of Dosso dei Galli, NATO antennas, offering panoramic vistas.
No, there are no specific permits or entrance fees required to hike the Dasdana Waterfalls - Ring tour.
Yes, the route intersects with several other trails. You'll find sections that are part of the Ponte Selva - Monte Dasdana, Alta Via del Caffaro - Tappa 3, and Sentiero 3V - Tappa 5, among others.
Given its moderate difficulty and varied terrain, we recommend sturdy hiking boots, sufficient water, snacks, appropriate layers of clothing for changing weather, and sun protection. A map or GPS device is also advisable.
Yes, as the name 'Ring tour' suggests, this is a loop trail. You'll experience diverse views throughout the hike without retracing your steps.
A circular tour of the three waterfalls and the nearby Dasdana lake. I've been wanting to do it for a long time... we're leaving today. I recommend it because it feels like you're immersed in remote lands... it's fairly well signposted but not too much (better download the track), there's water everywhere and the phone signal is unusually strong. At the lake there's a cabin where you can go sport fishing and eat sausage sandwiches cooked on soapstone... And a delicious beer. I recommend this tour because it's really satisfying... unfortunately mushrooms 🍄🟫.. 0 😭.. excellent tours everyone 🙋
From the Hotel Bonardi you go up to the arrival of the Dasdanino chairlift located at 2086 m.. a masochistic climb in fact given that there are a couple of easier paths to reach the enchanted lake of Dasdana where in summer you are welcomed by the mountain hut farmers who offer simple but quality refreshment with local products and moka coffee for enthusiasts. Continue towards the waterfalls on a path that is almost always downhill. You then go up following the 421 (bad signage as often happens in these parts unfortunately) which develops along the valley overlooking Bagolino of which you can appreciate the view until you enter the woods, we are at 1600m. made for a very long false flat until you cross the forest road, go up 300m and walk again in the woods crossing the ski slopes and the Zocchi area. From here the trail becomes increasingly clear as it continues to cut across the ski slopes covered in tall grass. No difficulties except for the fact that the support is often uncertain due to the terrain which is never actually a real path. You arrive at the Rifugio Maniva and turn right, going up slightly and taking the road that will take you back to the car park. By following it clockwise and taking a break at the lake hut, you give the waterfalls time to thin out the numerous hikers, thus having time and space to fully enjoy them.
