Hiking

This short but varied hike will show you exciting views and insights at an altitude of over 2,000 meters. Learn about the facts about the UNESCO World Heritage Tectonic Arena Sardona, enjoy the view of the green Wangsersee and let yourself be impressed by the landscape of the Pizol massif. Because of the low slope this round is suitable for the whole family.

You start at the Pizolhütte, which can be reached from Wangs via Furt and Gaffia by lift. Information on the travel times can be found at https://pizol.com/aktuell/betriebszeiten.

First, we lead you to the shimmering green Wangsersee. Framed by high peaks, which can still be covered by snow even in summer, the waters are in front of you. When the sun is right, you can see breathtaking reflections in the water surface.

Continue to the viewpoint on the Tagweidlichopf. There are information and adventure elements about the origin of the Pizol, the Tectonic Arena Sardona and mountains worldwide. Learn interesting facts about the geology of the surrounding peaks and the Rhine Valley.

When you arrive at the lift station, you can take a break in the Laufbodenstübli. In summer as in winter, guests are spoiled with regional delicacies. Then you walk back to the Wangsersee and can now come from the east to enjoy a new perspective on the mountain lake.

Back at the starting point at the modern Pizol hut you can fortify yourself with a delicious snack and take the lift back down to the valley. If you want to go further, you can easily descend to the Gaffia or Furt station.

You also have the opportunity to start this circular walk from the mountain station Laufböden. You can reach these from Bad Ragaz.
