Original tour from Visitflanders. The first stop on our road trip was in Ghent - we had never been there before. What was surprising was a wonderfully preserved, historic city center with what felt like 1,000 huge churches and a medieval-looking city center. It was quite crowded, but obviously there were fewer tourists than locals 😁😁 What will be remembered from a few hours? The canals, Het Gravensteen Castle in the middle of the city, a very youthful and colorful scene, some with an alternative feel, the countless bars and restaurants, and the nasty cobblestones, which made walking difficult. Always keep your head down, tripping hazards everywhere! A nice stop, made easy with free P&R places and free shuttle bus every 15 minutes. You can definitely stay here for a few days, a few hours at least give you an overview.
