This route was planned by komoot.
At 587 m, it is the highest peak of the plateau "Sierra de Oltà". Nowhere can you enjoy the best views of Calpe and the Penyal d'Ifac. A beautiful place that you reach via a path in which the panoramic views are a common denominator throughout the route. It is recommended to take plenty of water, especially in summer, where the sun and heat are felt a lot. You will not encounter anything along the way 🌭🍺 A place to visit. A tough walk that requires good physical condition due to the many rock formations.
Except for a section at the back, which runs on drivable paths, very nice round with great views
Plenty parking space available at Camping place of Oltamar. We walked the route encompassing all 3 peaks: El Pinet, La Mola and Cima d' Oltà. We walked up to the Ermita Vella and continued on the wide path. Then when coming to a fingerpost " Cima d'Oltà 2080m" , we started climbing sharply thru a gully. At the Coll, there is a fingerpost signing the 3 directions . We first went to El Pinet. You can spot the track by how other walkers have walked it. Views of Calpe and Peñon d'Ifach are magnificent, as is the ability to see the Balearic Islands on a day like today! We also came upon a small herd of goats with kids. We continued and made a loop back to the fingerpost and our 2nd track went to Peña La Mola. The odd cairn shows you the way, but again, the path is quite recognizable. From La Mola, stunning views of Benidorm and Sierra Helada. Back to the fingerpost again and now onto our 3rd peak: Cima d'Oltà. Perfect views of Sierra de Bernia and Benidorm from here. All the walking on the plateau towards El Pinet, La Mola and Cima d'Oltà is difficult..
Up to km 6.5 a beautiful lap with fantastic views of Calpe, Benidorm and the Montgo of Dénia. After 6.5km you have more of a view of the highway (and depending on the wind direction you can also hear it) and the path is a bit more boring. Another time I would probably go straight down at 5.22km or hike straight back to the starting point at 6.5km.
It's been about 15 years since we came to the Serra d'Oltá, on that occasion we participated in a mountain half marathon and to climb at full speed you can see little of the landscape, in addition to the fact that the weather was not good, rain, slippery rocks and mud , a lot of mud is what I remember. Today we returned on a windy but magnificent day, in which we enjoyed incredible views and had fun like never before. By the way, the world is really small, at the summit we met a Viennese.
