Very cool ridge hike with small climbing sections. Great distant view and the villages in the valley.
After we had rain again until the afternoon yesterday, today was finally great hiking weather and we were able to do one of our favorite tours. Although it was Sunday, we only met two hikers, which surprised us. We climbed from Benimaurell through a sea of blossoms to the pass "Coll del Corral Nou". From there, the hiking trail always follows the mountain ridge. The views are great and the rocky landscape becomes more and more impressive. In some places, you have to climb a bit. The ridge trail ends at "Coll de Penyo". From there it goes steeply downhill, first quite rocky, then through a small forest and finally on a small road back to Benimaurell. There was a delicious beer 🍻 at the bar in the parking lot to finish. It was a wonderful day
Twelve o'clock noon is not the ideal time to start a hike when it's almost 30 degrees, but we had to do a few things around the house first, and it was just that late. We did today's tour three years ago in the opposite direction. Since the descent was very steep and rocky, we wanted to go uphill today. It was good 😀. The tour is wonderful, it runs for a long time along the mountain ridge with wonderful views in all directions and to the sea.
Immerse yourself in another world in the middle of January. Today's ridge hike led from Benimaurell to the Cavall Verd (= Green Horse) mountain ridge. It is the easternmost part of the Sierra del Peñón. A tour with great views all the way to the Mediterranean, we were lovingly provided with provisions, especially with self-sewn fabric bags that our tour guide's mother lovingly sewed herself (see photo 6). That's something different than any old foil bag - a thing with heart. Otherwise, spring is already practically in the starting blocks here. The first 🌸 are showing on the almond trees. The gorse is blooming and huge rosemary bushes and dwarf palms line the path.
