This route was planned by komoot.
I rode the route between Alicante and Aspe in pouring rain. And then finally, the clouds parted and I finished the hike in sublime weather. Nice landscapes, historical points of interest, great route (technically easy, but beware in summer as there is almost no shade. On the trail, thousands of millipedes were out after the rain, I had never seen such a concentration before...
The route is easy and very pleasant. Interesting place. The hiking trip does not require any equipment and is not demanding. In my opinion, people in normal condition, only a little active on a daily basis will manage without a problem :)
Today we went on a relaxed but exciting circular route near Aspe that opened up a lot of history and wonderful insights. The clay pits near Aspe used to be an important industry and the clay still enjoys a high reputation today. The entire area is now an important reserve for biodiversity. Unfortunately, the 1 km is still on the edge of the settlements and therefore the side of the path is always littered with rubbish. The same applies to the way back. You have to walk through Aspe on asphalt. If you want to continue the tour, you can shorten it and follow the horse path. And another tip: the route can also be mastered by bike. However, you should only go as far as the large aqueduct and back onto the road, because the rest of the way through the Barranco is difficult.
