The bike tour to the Untersberg starts at the Karolinenbrücke. On the east side of the Salzach, you cycle through the upscale district of Aigen and past beautiful meadows and fields to Glasenbach. At Elsbethen you come back to the banks of the Salzach, where you cycle south. You can let your gaze wander over the sparkling water of the river.
At the mouth of the Königsseeache into the Salzach, you cycle west along the Ache. The wide gravel banks invite you to linger and sunbathe on hot days. A little later you reach the valley station of the Untersbergbahn. It is worth parking your bike here and taking the cable car up to Salzburg's local mountain. With the Salzburg Card you get one free ride up and one ride down the mountain. From the Untersberg you can enjoy a wonderful view of Salzburg and its surroundings.
After your detour up the mountain, you cycle a little way around the Untersberg so that you can take another look at it from below. You then cycle back towards Salzburg via Fürstenbrunn. You pass wide fields and meadows and the Leopoldskroner Weiher and reach the Karolinenbrücke, the starting point of the tour.
